Eligibility
Eligibility:
  1. The Alcan Prize for Sustainability is open to any not-for-profit, civil society or non-governmental organization that achieves a positive impact on economic, environmental and/or social development.
  2. Each entry must describe and demonstrate impact on at least TWO dimensions of sustainability – economic, environmental and/or social development. Preference will be given to organizations that are successfully advancing all three sustainability goals.
  3. Entries can be submitted in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic or Chinese.
  4. An organization may only enter one entry each year.
  5. The Alcan Prize welcomes entries from small, medium and large organizations, based anywhere in the world that have been incorporated and operating for a minimum of five years (ie. since 1st January 2003).
  6. The International Business Leaders Forum works with many not-for-profit partners worldwide. The International Business Leaders Forum cannot apply for the Alcan Prize for Sustainability. Programs or activities where the International Business Leaders Forum is one of the lead partners are not eligible for entry.
  7. Prize Recipients cannot enter the Prize for three years after winning.
  8. Training Grant Recipients are welcome to re-enter the Prize.
  9. Previous entrants are encouraged to reapply.


Receiving the Prize:
  1. There will be one Alcan Prize winner each year.
  2. Winners of the Alcan Prize for Sustainability are encouraged to generate and leverage additional resources to fulfill their goals.
  3. Training Grants to the value of US$15,000 are awarded to the remaining nine shortlisted organizations, with the specific intention of investing in certifiable training and capacity building for the organization, e.g. Cambridge University Post Graduate Certificate in Cross Sector Partnership.
  4. The Alcan Prize monies will be allocated in three instalments over a three-year time period agreed in consultation with the winner.

from management and travel activities relating to the Prize with contributions to Climate Care.
